Yankees beat 10-7 twins in another slug-fest

July 24, 2019

In the third straight slug-fest between two of the best teams in the American League, the New York Yankees topped the Minnesota Twins 10-7.

The Yankees took two out of three games in the series between potential playoff teams.

Aaron Hicks, Gleyber Torres, and Edwin Encarnacion each hit home runs. Didi Gregorius also contributed going 3-5 with three RBIs and Mike Tauchman went 2-4 with two RBIs.

With his home run tonight, Encarnacion has hit at least 30 home runs in eight straight seasons.

Nestor Cortes earned the win, pitching three and one-third innings and giving up just one run to improve his record to 4-0. Aroldis Chapman earned his 26th save of the season.

For the first time this season, the Yankees will play at Fenway Park as they start a four game series with the Boston Red Sox tomorrow night.
