Yankees beat Rays 3-0 behind Tanaka's complete game shutout
Behind Masahiro Tanaka’s first shutout of the season and home runs from Cameron Maybin and DJ LeMahieu, the New York Yankees topped the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0.
Tanaka pitched nine innings, gave up just two hits and struck out 10 batters.
LeMahieu hit a two-run home run in the third inning and Maybin hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.
With the win, the Yankees extended their lead in the American League East to one and a half games.
The Yankees will look to increase their lead even more tomorrow night with J.A Happ on the mound.
