Clint Frazier's 2-homer game helps Yankees crush the O's
The Yankees wouldn't need a late comeback tonight as they beat the Orioles by a score of 11-4. Domingo German got the start looking for his 9th win and he would get it after hurling 5 quality innings. Domingo wasn't overly dominant but he only allowed 2 earned runs and pitched good enough to get the W.
The Yankees would get on the board early. After a go-ahead 3-run homer in the 9th inning of the previous game, Gary Sanchez would start the Yankee offense off with another 3-run homer. Gary continues to prove that his abysmal 2018 campaign was a fluke.
In the 3rd, Gio Urshela would double in a run making it 4-0. The very next batter, Clint Frazier, who had been ice cold up until this at-bat, lined a 2-run homer to center. Frazier wouldn't be done with the long ball there, in the 5th, he lined another ball over the wall in center. This time it was a 3-run shot and the Yankees would jump out to a 9-0 lead.
A throwing error by German would lead to the O's first 3 runs after a 3-run homer by Steve Wilkerson. The Orioles final run would come off of an RBI groundout by Hanser Alberto in the 6th.
After an RBI groundout by Gary Sanchez, Gleyber Torres would single in the Yankees 11th and final run as continues to torment the Orioles. David Hale would pitch the final 4 innings allowing only 1 run and doing a great job giving the bullpen a day off.
The Yanks will look to secure a series win tomorrow in game 3 of the 4-game set. C.C. Sabathia will get the ball at 7:05 PM.
