Yesterday the Yankees acquired switch-hitter Kendrys Morales from the A's in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later. The 36-year-old first baseman/DH has had a 13-year major league career. Morales has averaged a very solid 25 homers and 85 RBI's over the past 4 seasons. So far this year he is hitting a lowly .204 with just 1 homer and 7 RBI's. With the barrage of Yankee injuries, he will provide much-needed depth and also provide a possible great veteran bat off the bench. He is expected to be activated today for game 2 of the doubleheader against the Orioles.
