May 7, 2019

Behind big days at the plate from Luke Voit and Thairo Estrada, The New York Yankees opened their four-game series against the Seattle Mariners with a 7-3 win.

Estrada hit a two-run home run for his first career homer and went 2-3 and Luke Voit went 1-4 with a two-run home run. Brett Gardner, Gio Urshela, and DJ LeMahieu each had multi-hit games and drove in one run.

C.C Sabathia earned his second win of the season, pitching five innings and allowing three runs. Adam Ottavino had a clutch performance out of the bullpen, as he pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth inning to keep the Yankees lead at 7-3.

In the second game of the four-game series, the Yankees will give the ball to Masahiro Tanaka as they take on the Mariners at 6:35 pm.
