Yankees sweep Giants with 11-5 win

Behind a balanced attack at the plate, the New York Yankees topped the San Francisco Giants 11-5 to earn the sweep.

Gary Sanchez drove in three runs in the game, hitting a two-run home run and driving in a run on a fielder’s choice. Gleyber Torres went 2-4 with a two-run home run while Luke Voit and Tyler Wade also had two RBIs.

Domingo German earned his fifth win of the season, pitching six innings and allowing four runs, all of which came in the sixth inning.

With the win, the Yankees have won 11 out of their last 13 and have gone 6-1 so far on their west coast road trip.

The Yankees weren’t able to make it out of the game unscathed though. Gio Urshela had to leave the game after getting hit by a pitch on his hand and DJ LeMahieu left the game with knee inflammation. Ushela’s X-Rays came back negative and LeMahieu will get an MRI on his knee.

After an off day tomorrow, the Yankees will be back in action when they face the Arizona Diamondbacks in a two-game series to finish their west coast road trip.
