During Monday night's game against the Angels, Clint Frazier retreated back to second base to avoid being picked off. It was clear that after his awkward feet first slide into the second base bag, he had some serious discomfort. Frazier would remain in the game and score the go-ahead run on a sac fly, but would sit out the next 2 games. Yesterday Frazier recieved an MRI and it revealed he had an ankle sprain. The Yankees have placed Clint on the 10-day IL and they expected to return in 10-14 days. At this point all you can do is expect someone to get injured and you have to just deal with it. It's getting pretty ridiculous.
In other news, the Yankees have acquired 31 year old outfielder Cameron Maybin from the Cleveland Indians for cash considerations. Maybin is a 12-year veteran who has yet to play in the MLB this year. Maybin provides great speed and potentially a good contact bat to fill in for
Frazier until he returns and back up the rest of the outfielders when they need a day off.
