Yankees pummel Red Sox 8-0

In the first meeting of the season between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox, the Yankees shutout the Red Sox 8-0.

Mike Tauchman had a huge day at the plate, going 2-4 with a three run home run and four RBIs. Gleyber Torres and Clint Frazier each hit solo home runs.

James Paxton earned his second win of the season, as he pitched eight innings, allowed just two hits and struck out 12. Paxton was the first Yankee pitcher to pitch at least eight innings and strike out 12 batters since Mike Mussina in 2001.

J.A Happ will get the start tomorrow night as the Yankees look to sweep their first series of the season against Boston.
