Yankees place Stanton on 10-day I.L.

April 1, 2019

No, this isn't some sick April fools day joke. Yankees DH/OF Giancarlo Stanton is headed to the 10-day I.L. with a left bicep strain. Less than 24 hours following the Yankees' 7-5 loss to the miserable Baltimore Orioles, yet another key player has come down with an injury. There was no indication by Giancarlo himself or Yankees' manger Aaron Boone yesterday that Stanton was dealing with any sort of discomfort. At this point you just have to hope that the 10 days is all Stanton will need and this isn't a long term injury

The Yankees have re-called OF Clint Frazier from AAA Scranton Wilkes-Barre to fill in for Stanton. This will be a big test for Frazier after his poor spring training where he hit .143 in 49 at-bats.
