Yankees Extend Aaron Hicks with Seven Year $70 Million Contract Extension

Just 10 days after the Yankees extended Luis Severino with a four year $40 million deal, the Yankees also extended Aaron Hicks with a seven year $70 million deal.

The deal was first reported by YES Network.

Hicks, 29, will get $2 million to sign, $6 million this year, $10.5 million from 2020 through 2023, $9.5 million from 2024 through 2025 and a team option in 2026 for $12.5 million or a $1 million buyout according to Joel Sherman.

The extension comes after Hicks set career highs with 137 games played,

119 hits, 90 runs scored, 27 home runs and 79 RBIs.

Now the Yankees will turn their attention to extending reliever Dellin Betances before he becomes a free agent at the end of this season.
