Yankees move Warren and Austin as trade deadline nears

The Yankees announced two trades today. The first trade sent Adam Warren to the Seattle Mariners for international signing bonus pool money.

Warren appeared in 24 games for the Yankees in 2018, posting an 0-1 record with a 2.70 ERA (30 innings, 26 hits, nine earned runs, 12 walks, 37 strikeouts and three home runs).

With this trade, the Yankees have now added $3.75 million in international bonus pool money.

The 2nd trade sent Tyler Austin and Luis Rijo to Minneapolis for Lance Lynn. Lynn was 7-8 with a 5.10 ERA in 20 starts for the Twins this season.

Austin hit .223 with eight homers and 23 RBIs with the Yankees this season. Austin was also part of the Yankees-Red Sox brawl earlier in the season, for which Yankee fans will always remember him. Rijo, was 4-1 with a 2.77 ERA in seven games (five starts) at three levels of the Yanks' farm system this year.
