Judge suffers chip fracture in wrist, out 3 weeks

July 27, 2018

The Yankees took a big hit last night with the announcement that their star right fielder will miss 3 weeks. Judge, who was the DH in last night's lineup, was hit in the right wrist by a pitch from Jakob Junis in the first inning. Judge stayed in the game for a second at-bat, but following that he was removed and replaced by Miguel Andujar.

After the game, Yankees' manager Aaron Boone reported Judge had received an x-ray at the stadium but they were unable to get a clear picture so Judge was sent to a nearby hospital for an MRI and CT scan. Yankee fans had to wait until after the game to get the official announcement regarding Judge. The official announcement from the Yankees was Judge sustained a chip fracture of the right wrist (ulnar styloid bone). The only positive news was Judge does not need surgery.

Brian Cashman make a play for an outfielder to take Judge's place for three weeks? Only time will tell.
