After coming off of a series loss against the Texas Rangers, the Yankees look to get back on track at home against the Angels. The offense, however, is still hot. The pitching has been the struggle as of late, from starters to bullpen it hasn’t been consistent.
In order for the Yankees to take advantage of this series, the offense needs to stay as hot as they have been recently, and the pitching needs to step it up in big situations.
Severino (7-1, 2.35 ERA) vs Heaney (2-3, 3.35 ERA)
It is obvious the Luis Severino is our ace this season, pitching with emotion and fire every start. Going the length even on a bad night, Severino has impressed all nonetheless.
Gray (3-3, 5.48 ERA) vs TBD (N/A)
Sonny Gray, coming off of his best start this season, going 8 IP giving up only 1 run, looks to keep it up in game 2. This could be the turning point for the good in Sonny Gray’s season.
Tanaka (5-2, 4.95 ERA) vs Richards (4-3, 3.31 ERA)
Tanaka, who has pretty much struggled all season giving up the long ball, did not have an ideal start in his last outing. Tanaka will look to bounce back and try to lower not only his pitches, but his ERA as well.
