Game Recap Refresher; Yankees coming off 6-2 win

The Yankees win their 7th straight series with a 6-2 victory over the Oakland A’s. Luis Severino got the ball against Brett Anderson.

The Yankees broke it open in the bottom of the first. Giancarlo Stanton cane up with the bases juiced and did exactly what a cleanup man is supposed to do as he laced a 2-run single up the middle making it 2-0 Yanks. Next up was Gary Sanchez who would let everyone down as he grounded into a double play. Aaron Hicks picked him up with a 2-out RBI single. 3-0 Yanks after an inning of play.

No one else would score until the 5th and it would be the red hot Jed Lowrie of the A’s with an RBI single. Sevy would work out of further trouble and that would be all he would allow for the day. 1 run over 6 innings. Another very solid outing.

The Yanks would get that run right back as Stanton continued his great day with a solo shot into the Yankee bullpen. 4-1 Bombers now.

The Yankees would get their 5th run in the 7th inning as Aaron Hicks would ground into a force play driving in another run making it 5-1 Yankees.

The final Yankee run would come in the 8th. An RBI single by The Judge would make it 6-1.

In the 9th Chasen Shreve would give up a solo homer but nothing else as the Yankees won 6-2. Sevy was solid despite not having much control and Stanton might be heating up.

The Yankees start a 2 game set against the Nationals, in DC tonight. Masahiro Tanaka against Gio Gonzalez at 7:05 PM ET.
