Yankees: Injury Updates

The Yankees placed Jordan Montgomery on the 10-day DL with left elbow tightness. He is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. The Yankees  signed David Hale to a Major League contract and placed him on the team as a roster replacement as Domingo German will start in Montgomery's place. 

 

The Yankees announced that Jacoby Ellsbury was transferred to the 60-day DL. 

 

Yankees' Manager Aaron Boone indicated Greg Bird could begin rehab from his ankle surgery within a week. 

 

OF Clint Frazier was recalled from the concussion list and optioned to the RailRiders. 

 

No update was provided regarding pitchers Adam Warren or Tommy Kahnle.
