New York Yankees' manager, Aaron Boone, announced today that Jordan Montgomery will be the Yankees 5th starter.
When asked about Montgomery getting the nod as a SP in the rotation, Boone responded, “I see it as his.” Adding, "I view it as he was very much a frontrunner for that spot. We're really excited about not only the year he put together last year, but where we think he can continue to develop. When I look at him, I look at him as one of our starters."
Montgomery is only 25 years old. Last year, the lefty posted a 9-7 record with a 3.88 ERA with 144 strikeouts in 155.1 innings during his rookie campaign.
