Could A Healthy Ellsbury Find Playing Time In Left Field?

March 7, 2018

"Everyone’s favorite Yankee might find a new home… in left field." -Vincent Pensabene

The plan, eventually, is to experiment with Ellsbury in left field. Ellsbury’s less than stellar arm fits left field better than center and could give the Yankees more range with two "center fielders" covering more outfield ground.

Ellsbury has played 86 games in left field in his career and has not committed a single error. Hopefully, since the Yankees have his payroll on the roster, manager Aaron Boone and Yankees can find Ellsbury a role for the team.

INJURY REPORT: 3/02/18 (Beth Wellington)

Jacoby Ellsbury was scratched from Friday's line up due to what is being called "tightness" in his side. Estevan Florial, the Yankees #2 prospect, replaced Ellsbury in Center Field.

In 4 games this spring, Ellsbury is 1 for 10. Last year, during the regular season, Ellsbury batted .264 with 7 home runs, 39 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases.
