It's been reported the Yankees obtained Brandon Drury in a 3-team trade with the Diamondbacks and Rays. Drury heads to the Yankees, Steven Souza Jr and Tyler Widener go to the Diamondbacks and Tampa acquires Nick Solack and Anthony Banda.
Drury will give the Yankees some security at 2nd and 3rd base, which would otherwise be filled by rookies Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andjuar. According to Dan Federico, who spoke with the NL Exec attached to the Drury trade, it seems as if this move will prevent Torres from starting 2018 with the big league club.
Drury, who is only 25, played in 135 for Arizona last year and hit .267 with 13 home runs and 63 RBIs. Not a bad pickup for Cashman and the Yankees.
