Todd Frazier signed a two year, $17 million deal with New York. This was a headline many of us were expecting to read at some point this offseason...

It's really hard to quantify how I feel about this Yankees season now that it's over. On one hand they were supposed to be rebuilding. They were supposed to be transitioning from the old, boring Yankees to the new breed of Bombers and because of that you didn't expect much out of this season. You just wanted to see if Judge, Bird and Sanchez were ready for New York and if the Yankees could build around them. Then if the Yankees could compete for a playoff spot and be relevant in September that was a bonus. They did that and more by locking up the top Wild Card. So the season is a success.

Then on the other hand they got to the ALCS. The February expectations are out the window. You're here now and you had a 3-2 lead in the series. You had two chances to bring home the Yankees 41st League Championship. You can't take these opportunities for granted because you never know if you're ever going to get this close again. The Yankees score 1 run in Games 6 and 7 and the season ends in bitter...

Last night, The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians 5-2 to win the best of five American League Division Series. I’ve had almost 14 hours to process it and I still can’t believe that it happened. The New York Yankees are four wins away from being Champions of the American League. It’s not going to be easy, it never is with the 2017 Yankees, but if you would have said that to me back in February I would have said you were crazy.

In July of 2016 the Yankees broke down and for the first time that I can ever remember, they told their fan base, “this isn’t our year.” Granted, the last five years have been rough in the context of Yankees history, but they never flat out told us not to expect a championship. They traded Andrew Miller, Ivan Nova, Aroldis Chapman and Carlos Beltran. I didn’t know how I felt about it. I’ve never seen the Yankees rebuild but as the prevalent baseball fan in me took over, I knew it was necessary. You could see it, the Yankees got old. They weren’t that...

It’s the last day of August and the Yankees are coming off an embarrassing three game sweep at the hands of the Cleveland Indians. Cleveland is one of the top teams in the American League so it’s no slight to lose to them. The reason the past three games were an embarrassment is because the Yankees scored all of four runs in those three games. You can count Greg Bird’s garbage time home run in the ninth inning during yesterday’s second game, but I’m not. The Yankees were feeling pretty good about themselves and their chances this weekend when they were just two games out in the loss column in the AL East Monday morning. The Indians came to town and the Yankees are now 5.5 games out in the division. They are clinging to a one game lead for the top Wild Card. Oh, how the feeling in the Bronx has changed in three days.

The big Yankees news heading into the Cleveland series was the benching of Aaron Judge to “refresh” him. He got all of Monday off and then Tuesday due to the rain out. Then...
